Road rage is no laughing matter. Someone may feel irritated at another driver and drive in a way that impedes the other person. While this may seem like some simple revenge, it can escalate into a serious incident. Car accidents caused by road rage can easily prove fatal and have lasting effects.

It was recently reported that road rage is considered a factor in a fatal Louisiana crash. Apparently, the incident involved two vehicles, both of which were speeding after one driver did not let the other driver merge. The vehicles were apparently trying to pass one another, but the driver of an SUV involved hit the front of the other vehicle. As a result, the second vehicle left the roadway and hit a pole. The SUV driver lost control after the collision and also hit a pole on the opposite side of the road.

The incident resulted in the SUV driver suffering undisclosed injuries. The driver of the other vehicle suffered fatal injuries in the incident, and her unborn child did not survive the crash either. At the time of the report, authorities were still investigating, but it is possible that charges could come against the surviving driver.

Car accidents that result from road rage can easily be prevented. Unfortunately, too many incidents have outcomes like this Louisiana crash. The family of the woman killed in this accident are undoubtedly heartbroken over the loss as well as the loss of the unborn child. If they feel it could suit their circumstances, they may want to look into filing a wrongful death claim against the driver considered at fault in efforts to seek compensation for resulting damages.
