When a serious accident occurs, many people can be left stunned, and they can also suffer serious repercussions from the incident. Unfortunately, some workplace accidents can have this type of outcome, especially for the workers involved and their families. Injuries and fatalities are, unfortunately, not uncommon in the construction industry.

It was recently reported that multiple people were killed and injured when a Hard Rock Hotel partially collapsed in Louisiana. According to reports, the top floors of the building, which is still under construction, collapsed while 112 workers were on the site. It was unclear what may have led to the collapse, but it was noted that a crane was also damaged in the incident. At the time of the report, investigations were still being conducted into how the collapse occurred and how structurally sound the remaining portion of the building is.

For precautionary reasons, officials have evacuated nearby residences and buildings and closed multiple streets. The accident itself resulted in two workers suffering fatal injuries, and over 30 other workers were injured. It was also noted that one work was still missing, but rescue efforts were underway in hopes of locating that individual.

The families of those killed and the injured workers undoubtedly have many feelings about this event. Unfortunately, workplace accidents are not exempt from such tragic outcomes. It may benefit these affected individuals to gain information about possibly obtaining workers’ compensation for the difficulties resulting from this incident. Obtaining help from Louisiana attorneys with paperwork and other aspects of applying for benefits may be useful during this time.
